Feel Like Going Home

“A South made sacred—not by postcard, but by someone who sees the light in its trenches.”

What We Did

KIN brought Feel Like Going Home, Matt White’s career-spanning portrait series of the American South, into Oven & Tap for a small yet potent showcase. We shaped the narrative—not just by hanging photographs, but by allowing each frame to breathe, pulsing with empathy, grit, and unapologetic love for the people and places within. The space became a quiet stage for truth.

Why It Matters

This exhibition wasn’t about snapshots—it was about soul. In his driving playlists, in the highways he knows by heart, Matt found humanity in the margin—and offered it back. KIN made room for that reflection. in doing so, we turned a simple gallery into an act of cultural preservation, validation, and quiet rebellion.
